Mozambiques official language is Portuguese, although English is becoming widely spoken in the tourist areas.
" Money
The local currency is the Metical, which is obtainable from local banks & bureaux de change. US dollars, Euro & Rand are widely accepted, as are most major credit cards at hotels, restaurants & lodges.
" Climate
The North of the country is a coastal zone, the climate being tropical & humid. The rainy season is between October & April with temperatures between 27 & 29 degrees, whilst the dry season falls between May & September with temperatures between 18 & 20 degrees.
" Health
It is highly advisable that a course of malaria prophylactics is taken prior, during & after your visit.
Sunscreen & a good hat are also recommendable!
